Day 3 -- Field Service
Field Service with Marmo Congregation
A beautiful Thursday morning we took the train to a local congregation in Stockholm. There to greet us was the Marmo congregation. Marmo is located 4-6 hours drive south of Stockholm. All the friends travelled early to meet us for service the day before the convention. To prepare hospitality, some were at the kingdom hall as early as 6AM.
The Kingdom Hall was only a few yards away from the train station. The friends were already there waiting to greet us with signs and singing the "theme song" of our convention - Family Love. It was a very warm welcome.
Service started promptly, and groups were already preassigned and color coded. Shula and I had the wonderful privilege of working with an amazing couple who just got reassigned to the field from Bethel and now serving remotely in the RTO in Marmo.
We arrived to the territory by train. It was a beautiful area with a river. Not many people were home. I was able to speak to 3 householders. I practiced 2 sentences in Swedish and was able to use it. Most Swedes know English, which really helps. I was able to place 2 invitations.
After we worked about a block, we returned to the Kingdom Hall for lunch. Before serving lunch, our host prepare a beautiful video about their congregation, its diversity. They intereviewed all the young ones. It was so precious.
The friends prepared a beautiful Swedish meal. And another challenge station. Afterwards, there was dancing and pictures.
We were exhausted. But spiritually refreshed and encouraged. Field serivce was quite the highlight of this trip
